Permission Granted
I am pleased to announce that the City of Amarillo has issued the appropriate permits. We now have permission to complete renovations to 4909 Canyon Drive! I know that many people who read this message will wonder what they can do to help. Unfortunately, since our renovations are being done to a "commercial" property the Construction Codes for the City of Amarillo prevent us from using help with construction unless the workers are licensed professionals. I know that this will dissappoint many of you since we have always had a value for doing this type of work together. Never-the-less, there are several ways that you can help now that we have permission to start the renovations. Here are three:
1. Pray
I bet you were expecting me to say that; but, I encourage you never to forget the productivity of prayer. In Zechariah 4 the "word of the Lord" comes to Zerubbabel saying, "not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." Rightfully, we quote this verse for in a lot of situations; but, contextually it was written to a man responsible for the major renovations of a ruined facility. Likewise, it is important for us to remember the spiritual significance of what we are doing in Amarillo. You can be part of what God is doing here no matter where you live. If you want to partcipate all you have to do is pray.
2. Contribute Financially
If you have ever visited one of our campuses you know that our renovations have always been done with excellence. We know that the Church is not a Building. The Building is just a facility; but, a facility should live up to its name by facilitating ministry. As we complete these renovations we will be creating an enviornment where people can find Jesus. To create that type of enviornment we do not have to be extravagant. We will be good stewards of the resources we have already saved and we will be good stewards of the resources we are given in the future. If you would like to help in this way simply follow this link to give online. You can also designate an offering to the Amarillo Campus Building Project whenever you give your regular contributions at one of our other campuses.
3. Volunteer
Even though we cannot use most people's physical help in the renovation process, completion of the renovations will create a lot of opportunities for people to serve. Every Sunday morning we will need the volunteer services of about 14 people. If you would like to know more about how you could help us on a Sunday morning; please, email me: chris@harvestchristianfellowship.org.
