A week ago on October 27, 2013 we lost our nephew Cole at age 26. This has been a painful week for our entire family as we said goodbye. As I remember Cole I realize how grateful I am that Cole was a part of our lives even if it was too short. I look back on the week and see that as we talked about him it was in gratitude. His dark eyes that always made you wonder what he was thinking or planning next, the crooked smile and contagious laugh or the way he loved and protected his mother. The pain this week has been deep and will take time to lessen for us, but as Justin asked Sunday where does your gratitude come from and I can say without a doubt our gratitude comes from our Father in heaven as he blessed us with Cole and our memories.
Despite this horrible situation that threatens to drag our family into despair, we are deciding to be grateful.

I am grateful for all the relationships that I have been blessed with through this church. For the men and women that refused to let me live in insecurity and fear, but instead reminded me who I am in Christ. Two people in particular are Jonathan and Kristen Wright, I am so grateful for the countless hours, prayers, correction, and council that they have given me and Madi. If it weren't for people like them I don't know were we would be. Thank You!!

I am grateful for family, both past and present. As family past helped to shape me into who I am today, family present continues to do the same. Family that I grew up with and have since gone home taught me by example about love of family and friends. Our grandparents are so important in shaping us. Parents mold by example as well, but have a more important role as teacher. I am thankful for that instruction, even though I have waited many years to implement some of it. I am ever grateful to a family present that loves me despite my many worldly flaws and provide for me a source of reciprocity in that love that gives me strength, purpose, and responsibility to protect and provide. I am grateful for my new church family who has introduced me to a new level of corporate love and worship. I am thankful for a church staff that is so attuned to real ministry. Mostly I am grateful for a Father who continues to fight through all the outside influences to constantly draw me nearer to Him. In short, I am grateful for life.

Thanksgiving and gratitude aren't always about the things we "have"or the things we "get", sometimes it can be about what we have had taken away. So many things come to mind: our freedom/country for which so many good men and women have served to protect our way of life, of course, family. We have come through some really trying times together, a husband who has provided for us and never asked for much in return, children who are blessings to us, we have jobs, and my list can go on and on. That is why we start out each new day thanking God for all our blessings and being truly grateful.

Today I am grateful for all the many things I take for granted. From running water to electricity...from a roof over my head to more than one vehicle in the driveway...from family & friends who love me...to even my husband....and on and on and on. I take so many precious things for granted, but today I choose to realize and be oh so grateful; for each of them are but blessings from a Father who loves me dearly. So today I am grateful to You, God, for all those precious little things that all too often go without any thanks.

I'm grateful that the Lord has brought such a wonderful daughter into our family! We could never have asked for a better child and marvel how much she is like us in so many ways. I tell my little girl that I knew the good, the bad, and the ugly and I choose her and love her. We adopted her knowing it all. My prayer is that God will give me His eyes, His heart, His love for this precious one.How comforting it is to know that our Heavenly Father loves us and choose us. We have been adopted by the King. He knew it all and sent His Son to rescue, dedeem, and restore us! I love the fact that God is interested in every aspect of our lives and He loves us unconditionally.

I am genuinely thankful for the faith that my church family has had in me.
It has been very difficult being so far from home. The network of people I have
Had the experience of having in my life has been incredibly overwhelming.
I recently had my first baby and without Harvest and the strong women
Of Harvest I would have nothing. I can't imagine being in west Texas without
Such an amazing group of people . . .I truly have a home away from home here. Although
It has been increasingly difficult to make it to a Sunday service because of my
Schedule I know that my brothers and sisters in Christ are just a phone call
Away. I am thabkfuk for my family, my friends, my rock that is Harvest. I am not a wealthy person but with Harvest I know I will never go without. Thank you all.

I found this today. "Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Today I heard Justin's message at the Lubbock Campus on Ingratitude. First off this was only my third time to attend, but oh how I love what is going on in this Church. This message completely took me and gave me an entire new perspective of just how important it is to not only be thankful, but to live a lifestyle of gratitude. Literally the day before this service I had one of those days where you try and pick everything apart to feel down and like everything is going wrong. But today I see that we miss each days blessings and plans from God when we choose not to see just exactly what we have to be thankful for from him. Everyday we should have the goal to not only live like Christ but to live in Gratitude for everything he has done for us and continues to do for us, No matter the circumstance.

I am grateful that God wants His best for me, and knows what is best, and helps me choose those things for my life. I was reminded yesterday of the old hymn "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and this has been a hallmark of my life - experiencing the faithfulness of God toward me and my family. Thank you Lord for your constant affection toward me!

I am thankful to all of the Harvest pastors! Thank you, Justin, for pushing me out of my shell. I use to just accept my anxiety/depression as being a part of who I am but our pastors have shown me through their encouraging messages of being fearless and courageous that our fears are not as powerful as they seem. Thanks for 'stepping on our toes!' Thank you to Pastor Cameron as well for sharing his story because I could really relate to him. It's very encouraging and exciting to see how far a person can come and the fears that they have defeated! I have accomplished and grown so much since I have become a member of Harvest :)

Every day, I am thankful for my boyfriend. About a year and a half ago, on our first date, I told him I really liked him but that it is only fair to let him know that I had recently been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I told him that I would be completely understanding and not be angry if he were to walk away and not pursue a relationship with me. He thought that was a dumb idea, and we continued the date normally... Today I am cancer free and we plan on getting engaged next Summer. If it weren't for my boyfriend and my best friend, I would have given up long ago. He is a leader in Christ to me and is always there to give me that extra push and say "you can do it." I thank God for him every moment of every day. :) I am truly blessed with countless great things from our Father.

I am grateful for a God who forgives all sin, a wife that never gave up on me and went to her knees just for me, just as my Savior went to the cross just for me.

I am amazed, overwhelmed, impressed, touched, moved and thankful that I am so very blessed in so many ways each day. Today, I am so thankful for the people God brings my way and the nature of our paths crossing. The joy of my family and the holy innocence of a child who has no boundaries to her creativity and imagination.

I'm so grateful for this current season of quietness and rest. No husband or manfriend, no children living at home, no meals to cook or homework to check or basketball games or 10 loads of laundry. My house is quiet and full of peace. And I'm just resting and enjoying it. Thank you, Jesus!

On Thanksgiving Day 2001 my husband took his last breath here on earth and stepped into his eternal life in heaven. It was definitely one of the hardest roads my daughter, then 9 years old and myself 33, had ever traveled. Shock, depression and hardness crept into my heart and mind. My faith seemed to be so lacking as I struggled to hold on to the God I had known growing up, the God who loved and cared about my husband, daughter and me, the God who had restored and strengthened our marriage, just to see it all fade away. Needless to say, I was lost. But my God, never gave up on me. He never stopped persuing me. As I was faithless, He remained faithful, for he cannot deny Himself. My healing began as my heart started to remember the gift of His son who hung on the cross, defeating death. I began to see things as they really were, through a gracious heart. My husband was now standing in the presence of God. The words "I can only imagine" took on a whole new meaning. I can hear the words, "Well done my good and faithful son," being spoken upon his arrival. Where once I looked on this time of year with dread and disdain, God has replaced that with grateful anticipation and thankfulness.

I am so thankful for God's provisions and abundant love. The fact that he is there waiting for us even though we try to do everything ourselves.
I am thankful for my husband, Micah. He too loves me so much and never gives up on me, even during the times I am unlovable. I am thankful for his forgiveness.
I am also HUGELY thankful for the ability to fly! Having family and friends living in Oz & USA makes the ability to fly incredibly important to me :)

Today I am grateful for my father in law Rod Southard. I am grateful for the love with which he raised my wife and helped shape her into the woman that stole my heart, he taught her to worship, to pray, and to love unconditionally. He was a good dad, man, and friend. I miss him, and I will always be grateful for him.

While I am grateful for the big things in my life - Jesus, family, church home, job, home, car, etc ... I am looking to be thankful in the small stuff - a close parking space at Wal-Mart, paper in the copier at work, a headache today instead of on the weekend ... these help me to be close to God during my day, not just when I need help with the "big stuff" ...

I am grateful for the grace of God. I am grateful for Holy Spirit , that I don't have to try to live this life of faith on my own! I am grateful for the freedom to worship freely.I am grateful that He tells us who and who`s we are in His word. Today I am thankful for the blessing of my blended family. My daughter has a tremendous step-dad who loves her as his own. And, although I did not give birth to my two sons, I have had the privilege of raising them in our home. Praise God that LOVE always trumps DNA!

I am grateful for my husband who lives and loves in a way that shows me the heart of God. I am thankful for a precious daughter who helps me understand how God feels about his kids. I'm thankful for a family who has always loved with open arms - both the family that I was born into and the family I married into. I am thankful for breath and health today. I am thankful for a church that helps my family grow into the people God made us to be! I am thankful for the life experiences that we treasure, and how God's provision has followed us around the world. So many things! Life, JOY, influence, abundance, friends. And those are just a few of the big things. I am thankful for God opening my eyes to see the zillions of seemingly small things too. :)

I am grateful for the giving people of Harvest and the giving culture that has been created in this church. People that not only give financially, but also give of their time, their energy, their love, their wisdom, their expertise and skills, they open their homes and hearts. So, a big thank you to all those that give to Harvest! Our church would not be the same without you.

This morning as I was reflecting, praying and meditating on Gratefulness, the one thing that rose up within my heart and spirt is that I am so thankful that 25 years ago that God set Brad nad I on a journey with our dear friends, Paul and D'Ann Cypert to plant a church in Plainview, Texas. We started out with the loss of our precious son, Micheal and through a lot of pain, tears and perseverance, we kept hanging on to the promise that God was going to do a "good thing". As a result and 25 years strong and going...Harvest Christian Fellowship was born. God has redeemed and restored that which was lost and continues to this day to bring healing, restoration and new life! For that I am Grateful!

I'm grateful for trees turning orange and red, for itchy tags on sweaters because it means I have clothes to wear, for Honey Crisp apples, ice cold water to drink and my warm, comfy bed. I'm grateful for a daughter that rarely calls because I raised her to be independent and because she's so involved with her new husband creating a life of her own. I'm grateful for my parents and the example they've set, for my sisters and for friends that are closer than sisters. I'm grateful for dirty carpet and for the puppylove that drags in leaves and grass from outside, for a vehicle that carries me to a great job, for an awesome group of employees that make me look smart, for a youngest daughter that makes me laugh till my sides hurt and for steak and sushi.

I am so blessed by Freedom In Christ. I have been in church my whole life and never heard some of the truths that were taught this past weekend. I know now that I need to show myself some of that same Grace that God has been showing me. I have fallen in love with a church, a people group that are vulnerable and live this life with me. Thanks Harvest Peeps.

I am grateful for a God who has plans bigger and better than my own. I came to Plainview in 2010 following a guy I had been dating for a couple years in high school. My parents were so disappointed that I didn't stay back home around the San Angelo area for school closer to them, especially because I was going to Wayland for him. A semester into school I broke up with the guy for many reasons, but the man I am married to now just so happened to be his best friend who innocently was just there for me after the break up and became my best friend. My husband and I are blessed to be equally yoked and I am so blessed with a marriage of nearly a year and a half and counting. God knew what He was doing when He brought me here three years ago and I will forever be thankful.

I am thankful that God brought us to Harvest and the faith that he has given me to meet my cancer head on and the prayers that so many of God's army has lifted me and my family up. The doctors have been amazed that I am still around but it is God that is keeping me going. He still has more for my life. Also thankful for my wife that has stood beside my for 40 years. I'm my daily devotional this morning it talked about enjoying the rhythm of life while walking close to Jesus. Today am am thankful for all the ups and downs in my song of life. The rhythms of my life have taught me so much about how important it is to trust God in all things, enjoying the good, and rejoicing in those things, and knowing in the "not so good" there are brighter days coming. In my life today i am so thankful God is leading my everyday and I don't have to worry about tomorrow

Today, a way down deep, heart-felt, life-changing gratitude for this church we call Harvest...my church...our church. As I read through the blogs I am taken back a few years to when we first came to Harvest. May we always remember what that was like and never take for granted what we have here...a Holy Spirit-filled, Bible-teaching, Christ-manifesting church full of God's love and grace...and HGP!!

* Thankful As I listened to the sermon online that I missed at church Sunday due to being ill I began thinking about gratitude...rather the choice of gratitude. I choose to love the life that I have because God has provided it for me. I asked God for what I needed and He provide that and more. How can I not be thankful...

Today, I am extremely thankful for the manifesting, LIFE giving, healing presence of the Almighty Warrior God! Many of you know that my dad, Buzz Rutledge, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer this summer. I received news this morning that the tumor is shrinking and that he might be in REMISSION! The word of God says...Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.(Phi.4:6) My family and I have been standing and believing on the Word for my dad's healing. Today, I am thankful for prayers that are being answered and for the Mighty work of a God that still HEALS and Hears HIS children! Our GOD is an AWESOME GOD!!!!

what i find the most amazing is seeing God's love in the most unexpected places. From God telling me that I would finally meet my wife and marring her at my age of 38. My children wanting to be with me, and showing me love when they have nothing else to give me. But the most stunining is to find that dispite what I've been led to believe, God's love toward me is as secure as His Word. To be grateful, to me, is an understatment. Acknowledging what it means when God's Word is applied to His statment of love toward me? I'm kncked to my knees and on my face grateful.
